If we are to take the climate emergency seriously, our dependency on fossil fuels must end.

From the onset, Wind Estate have sought to be an important part of the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, and the need to make that transition is more pressing now, than ever before. In addition to the climate needs, the energy security benefits of locally owned and operated electricity, generated from sustainable resources, offer protection from geopolitical uncertainties and rising energy costs.

Wind Estate is one of the first energy companies in Denmark to only supply electricity from wind turbines.

Energy efficient head office

We put sustainability into practice. Our headquarters, in Randers, Denmark, is built to the highest standards in environmental and energy efficient building regulations. For example, the building has triple-pane glass installed everywhere in the building, and an intelligent electricity and ventilation management system. Heating requirements from the offices, warehouses and workshops are so low that they are there is no requirement for a connection to the mains gas network. The buildings heating and hot water needs are met with an energy efficient geothermal system that runs on electricity, and the system also provides ample cooling during warm weather.

In order to further reduce the companies carbon footprint, Wind Estate installed solar panels on the roof of the headquarters building. The solar panels more than cover our electricity needs during sunny periods. In fact, the electricity generation from the solar panels significant enough that it covers the company’s annual power consumption.

A fossil free company

In order to achieve the goal of being a one hundred per cent fossil free company, Wind Estate has installed solar panels on the roof of the building. The solar panels more than cover our needs during sunny periods. In fact, the electricity production from the solar panels is so large that it covers the entire company’s annual power consumption.
